There is a chronic need for food in the town of Norton. The number of families coming to the pantry for assistance is growing due to the economic crisis, especially with the high unemployment rate. We support the elderly who live on fixed incomes, single mothers trying to feed their children, and folks who never thought they would lose their jobs and be unable to provide for the basic necessities of their family.
The volunteers at the pantry try to keep up with the increasing demand for food, but keeping the shelves stocked with food year round is especially challenging. The summer months are our leanest times of the year since donations of food and money slow to a trickle.
By becoming a Community Partner with the pantry, your monthly gift of money or food, would ease our concern over having enough food to give to the forty to fifty families who come to each distribution. We will prominently display the name of your business or organization at the pantry, and highlight the efforts that you make on the Top Supporters page of our website. A sustaining partnership would guarantee that we can keep the pantry open year round, and be able to offer the food staples that our visitors hope to find.
Please contact the pantry by phone at 508.942.3083, or e-mail cupboardofkindness@gmail.com to establish this partnership. Any assistance you can offer will be greatly appreciated. Visit our How to Help section to see how you can contribute to The Cupboard of Kindness as a local business or organization.
